This Clayton is stuck

I am stuck. I have a relative Arthur Clayton B:1867 Islington. His father was George E Clayton ( Not sure what the E was for). Arthur had a brother George who is my Great Grand Father.
I am trying to determine which marraige was Arthur's, as there are two records.
1897 married an Ethel Blanche Volan and a child Myrtle M was born of this marriage.
1899 married a Lenora Estella V Sadler and from this marriage was a child born 1911 George E Clayton. My suspicions are that this is the right link, as Arthur's father was George E Clayton, and tradition suggests that this would follow suite.
The 1901 census show Arthur with Brother George in a tavern, and no family, which suggests that they were on business as both were meat salesmen. Trying to work backwards by finding the respective spouses on the census has drawn a blank, as I had hoped to find offspring, and work back or around those off spring.

Can anyone assist or come up with some ideas. My only other option is to order the marriage certs to determine which Arthur is which.

cheers

If you order the certs, specifying father's name as checking point, you will receive a partial refund for the one which does not tally

Oh bother should have looked at the 1901 census for Arthur Clayton and brother George first. They are both listed as SINGLE.

Thanx for the information Glitter Baby. I know George Clayton was not married until 1910. Long story there, but he sired 3 children before marriage. It is possible that Arthur may have been married, but not recorded correctly in the Census. However the census appears to show other Arthur clayton's, which may prove that he did not get married by that time. My Arthur would have been 33 at the time of the census. Considering that you found the two Arthur's at home with their families, would suggest that this is not the link I was looking for.
thanx for the assistance.
