Thanks for that Gerri. Never thought of the marriage certificate. I think the old brain has become a bit scrambled so thanks again.

Have you got her 1910 Marriage cert? That should have her Fathers name and occupation on it.

Good luck with the Irish research...me thinks your gonna need it!...sorry I cant help on that note.

Could anyone tell me the best way to search Irish records. My husbands great grandmother was born Catherine McCarthy in 1878. I know she was born in Skibbereen county Cork. She married a John O'Brien also from county cork and sometime before 1901 they moved to Neyland in Pembrokeshire. In 1910 she married Arthur Williams in Pembroke. I would like to know the best way to find any record of her before she moved to Wales. Thanks
