i just found a record of a burial for an ancestor of mine and it said it was "half purchase" does anyone know what exactly this means?

thanks

I'm not sure it it's the same in your case but it is possible to purchase a half size plot for the burial of cremated remains. Could this be possible do you think.

It can sometimes means it is a full sized plot, intended for 2 burials (eg husband and wife) and the "ownership" of the other half rests with the remaining living relative, to prevent anyone else being buried there.
