Did that, thanks, but still couldn't see Joseph.

I'd not known about the M' before, though had seen it spelled MacCusker, McCosker and McUsker.

Hi Evelyn

I copied each record individually and pasted on to a word document and that worked OK for me.

Regards...Teresa

Hi Teresa.

I thought about doing that, but when I right click on the record the 'copy' and 'paste' options are in light grey and don't respond. I'm really stumped.

Thanks anyway

Hi Evelyn,
Once you click on "Copy to clipboard" you can paste into Word, etc.

(When I click on "Copy to clipboard" this message pops up:
"Record details have been copied to your computer's clipboard. You can now paste this information into your favorite program.")

Joy, is this what you're looking for? District, year, volume and page number match those of Susan McCusker. In the search form I only filled in Joseph Harrison and Castlebar, Mayo, Ireland, and selected "Exact, close & partial".

This brings up two Joseph Harrison records registered in Castlebar, a marriage (residence) and a death, the marriage being:

Name: Joseph Harrison
Registration district: Castlebar
Record type: MARRIAGES
Registration date - quarter and year: 1876
Volume: 19
Page: 57

Yes, the photocopy option is a cheap way of getting the information you need.

What you get is very similar to our own certificates which have a copy of the original details printed across the centre. The only difference is that you don't get a cert, only a narrow strip of photocopy paper.

We have several. We also have a full cert for my wife's grand father, but this is simply hand written

Does anyone know how complete the records are? We have found quite a few missing for Dublin, which we know should be there as we have copies.

They should be pretty complete. Have you read the Record Description, Record Coverage, etc., on the Ireland Civil Registration Indexes 1845-1958 search page?
Also try searching with "Exact, close & partial" selected (instead of "Exact & close match") as that seems to bring up more results.

Do you know, I did that and still didn't see! Just seen him now, thank you.

Hi Sarah.

I also get the message that I can copy and paste from the clipboard. Only I can't. The copy and paste function only appears in light grey and is unresponsive!

Thanks anyway!

Sarah

Sarah Report 28 Jan 2009 17:26

When you see that message, it should already be copied to your clipboard. Just click on OK, and then paste into Word or another program using the Paste function in the Word menu, or right-click and then Paste, or by pressing Ctrl-V.
(there is no need to copy again; clicking on "copy to clipboard" should already have copied it)

Hi Sarah.

Thanks so much!! I finally get it - using the Paste function in the Word progam, instead of trying to find it on the clipboard.

Really appreciate your help.

I am having terrible diffs with the Family Search Pilot Site ,Irish Collection. First time I tried it out I got my Dad's DOB, even his rather unusual middle name, which I hadn't entered. Since then I've made several attempts to find it again without success. The site now denies all knowledge of him. Looking for some other ancestors in County Down I'm getting a message " The requested record is not available " when I try to access one from the index. Click on it and you get a box which reads "Service Error This collection 1000 is not available. In Feedback, please report this error code and collection name. (Error 1401)"
Anybody else experienced this or worked out how to to get round it?

Hi mgnv

I guess I'm doing something wrong as I can't get to any Ireland collections. Ireland is not mentioned under Europe and when I view 'All Collections', there's nothing for Ireland. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry I just noticed that isn't the dates for my Grandmother Mary Carney or Kearney and her sister Catherin Carney or Kearney births. the months are wrong on both of them. The year is correct though.

They seem to have removed the database - hopefully just a temporary situation.
