Hi,

New to all this, how do we go about finding a birth certificate? We have the district as Prestwich, the volume as 6d and the page as 299. We don't know where to look next.

Thanks
Denise

Ill bump up Tips for New Members for you - will give you all the basics you need for now.

Im afraid you dont "find" certs, you have to buy them.

It still costs £7 to order a certificate - if you are asked for more, check that you have said 'yes' to the question asking if you have the GRO reference
