Would Anyone have any idea how you start to find records in both Malta and Germany?

Thank you both, just those sites have helped immensely.

For Germany, you need to know the the region that the event took place in and apply to the registrar for that region, there are no central records available.
Take a look at this page for info:-

For Maltese certificates, try this link:-
http://certifikati.gov.mt/?lng=en

Unfortunately I cannot get it to open.

Try this for Malta if the address Keith posted does not open.

My late brother was born in Malta in 1945 and I ordered the certificate on line without any problem.

Good Luck!
