Hi Rose I did see that and have thought about it but I am grateful for the reminder because I looked at hundreds of records yesterday and my brain is so scrambled.

I have a sneaking suspicion that perhaps the parents didn't marry and maybe Evelyn Rea is the biological child of another Rea.

I will have to order the cert once I have paid the electricity bill *groan*.

You have all been wonderful and so generous with your time, thank you so much.

If I get further info I'll put it up. I don't want this one to beat me...lol

Sue,
Will you be sending for the birth cert for Evelyn Rea.

It would be very interesting reading seeing as I can't find a marriage for Frederick Alexander/alexander Frederick Rea and Emily....

Hi Sue,

I only have the C of E baptism register for her sister Edith (2/5/05) so no extra info other than parents - I'm sorry.

If you have any ideas please...please...throw them in.

Thanks

Sue

I really do thank you all for helping.

The Bennetts are my direct line and I have all those little dears. Evelyn's hubby was in the Royal Navy, as were other Bennetts. I could understand if she disappeared after the marriage, I haven't even looked post marriage for children yet. However disappearing before the marriage is plain daft. I can't even find a marriage for her Father or definitively see him on census records.

The only fact I am pretty sure of is that........she's dead!

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 4 Apr 2010 18:52

I know others have done the same and more, but just to recap I have been through all 164 pages of the 1911 that come up with variations on Rea, looking for Alex, Fred, Emily or Evelyn (and variations) - zilch. I thought I'd found her on the official 1911 mistranscribed as Eveline Emily (surname), but no. Although her mother's name is Emily, married to somebody else, but she wasn't a Rea before marriage. I've also looked to see if the surname has been transcribed as Alexander - no.

I've looked at immigration records, plenty of Rea's moving around but nothing that's them. I imagine several are Walter Russell's lot.

Running out of ideas.

I've already looked at the witness, but couldn't see a connection -

maybe Evelyn and Ellen were friends or worked together (about the same age)

Madmeg

Hubby is making dinner.

Here's a shame if it's her:

I found an Edith Roe reg'd Q1 1905 born in Edmonton.

Choccy - Wandsworth is a good area! but would that mean the child didn't survive?
