Are there any Ancestry offers out there right now?

I renewed using this thread a year ago when it was 50% off but my subscription has now expired.

Thanks,

Rose

That was really good Rose.

National Trust are offering 25% off through their web site.

Help! I'm in the same boat as Rose but I'm in Canada so the National Trust offer is no good for me.

When I went to renew last October I told them that I was thinking of leaving as it was too expensive. They immediately offered me a 10% discount.

I replied that I knew they had already offered 20% discount to other members who were renewing at that time (see Jonesey's thread) and after a little to-ing and fro-ing they offered me the same deal.

Not as good as 50% but better than nothing.

They didn't offer me anything when I phoned them.
Actually, I just had a look at the National Trust site and I think I'd be accepted even though I' in Canada.

Thanks DetEcTive,

I'm looking for the Worldwide membership so offers with the Australian, NZ, Canadian, USA versions of Ancestry will all work.

Margaret,

If you're after the Worldwide package you can subscribe to any of the Ancestry sites. I'm signed up for the Canadian version last year because it was the best deal but I'm not in Canada.

Thanks Jonesey,

They usually send me an email with an offer for 20-30% off a few weeks after I cancel.

I paid $149 Canadian last year and $150 US the previous years.

This is supposedly 31% off but it's still more than the NT deal.

Can't be bothered to read to the end of the thread (call me lazy lol) but if you have to join the national trust to get the discount, see if it's available through the Scottish National Trust. Their membership is cheaper than the English and you can visit the same places at the same rates

MM - I ordered 9 m ago - a basic UK membership thru the UK site.
I used my Canadian addy - I didn't get any discount, but my purchase was VAT exempt - I forget what the VAT rate is, but if it's 17%, then that's 15% off.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Jan 2011 09:27

VAT is now 20% mgnv..It went up on 4 Jan this year ;((

Best I know of at the moment is FTM 2011 on Amazon for £29.99 with six months free Ancestry Premium - that's equivalent to 45% off an annual membership. There is also a FTM 2011 deal with six months World for £64.99 but thats not such a good deal, works out as only 16% off.

No, Rose, I haven't signed up for anything yet. I did find that I had 3 months free subscription to Ancestry.ca from a Familytree Maker that we bought quite a while ago so I'm making do with that until I decide what to do.
