Just been reading the board and the Attestation post caught my eye.
I've been told by a family member that my great grandfather GEORGE DUCKHOUSE born 1857 Oldbury Worcestershire, served under a General Roberts in 3 campaigns and received a pension for a march in Afghanistan from Kabul to Kandahar. No other info available, can anyone help me with how I can find out more please?

If his discharge papers have survived they should be on the FindMyPast site.

Thanks for that annielaurie, I assume you have to be a member to view FindMyPast, or is there a pay to view section - never been on that site?
Thanks again
