Thank you for sending the addresses for the site's in Newcastle where my gg/mother was born. I will now use this info as an addition to my tree to add to the bald facts.

I was able to find the Hanover Street Warehouses. The area fits with a story my brother tells me of the family rowing up the Tyne toward Hebburn. Not sure how true that is as it is a long way. It must have been grim living in such an area at that time. Not so now.

I was also able to find Thornton Street, Newcastle where my g/gmother's parents lived at the time of their marriage. I found Street Map UK a good site to get around.

The pond at Jesmond was lovely and of course depicts quite a different area from Hanover Street at that time. However, things look to be changing today with the renovation of the old warehouses on the Tyne.
