I've been searching for a missing child and so took the plunge and sent of for a certificate but with the parent's names as the cross ref since I actually don't know the name of the child or when it was born.
I have now received a certificate back but I have concerns, so any advice would be helpful please.
The parent's names are Patrick Foley and May Eliza nee Ellis.
On the certificate I got the father is Patrick Andrew Foley and May Eliza nee Ellis, but on all my other records that have Patrick's middle name it has George - including the monogrammed pocket he kept his bankbook in, which I have in my possession.
Could it be that there were two Patrick Foley's marrying two May Ellis's or is it more likely that he may have had a second middle name but didn't use it much?
Thanks Gypsyjoe

Is this the couple? If so he had no middle name recorded.
I have one chap in my tree who suddenly decided to give himself a middle name when he married for the 3rd time at 68.

The only Patrick G. Foley births I can find were from the 1950's and 1960's, so much later than the marriage to May Eliza Ellis.
The only census I can find for a Patrick A. Foley is the 1891 census:-

Does the certificate show the expected occupation for Patrick?
....or an address that matches any family records?

Thanks Everyone
I have his marriage clarification to May and there is no middle name, nor on her death certificate.
I've accounted for them all through the census as well and have his birth certificate were there is no middle name listed.
On his daughter's birth and death certificate in 1901 there is also no middle name, though on his son Albert's marriage certificate he has the middle name of George. On Albert's birth certificate however there is no middle name.
The address don't match up but then the family seemed to have moved a bit anyway, none of the children are born at the same address, though the daughter born in 1901 was born in West Ham and so was the son born in 1907.
The job however does match up.
