Thats what was written in the where born section for my great great great nan.

If possible do you know why she is down on the 1891 census form as being Elleanor M Brown an looks like it says she was born in greece, or am just miss reading it again.

I imagine she was just living with Mr. Brown as his wife - there was a lot of it about!! Possibly one of them was married already.

i have no idea what to make of it, 3 different census forms all different information for her.

Maybe the enumerators had never heard of Corfu!! The 1911 was filled in by the householder, so as Maureen cleverly spotted they just made a stab at the spelling.
On the 1881, if you look at the image, the enumerator had just assumed she was born Scotland I think, her husband coming from there.

Hi Maureen, thank you, am finding the boards very helpful.

I have no idea what her fathers name is.

My great grandfather was called james william brown born 1886 and its his parents that am looking for, he was born around Toxteth liverpool.

His dad was a ships captain so i was told, and apparently his mum was a tailor.

Oh! So possibly not that family at all!

When and whom did he marry? Do you have the certificate?

Nope am kinda stuck, i only know about great grandfather he was definatly born & raised in liverpool.

Think i will have to restart my search on them.
