While clearing a box of old books for the charity shop I found a book called The Queen her early life and reign printed by Frederick Warne & Co in l887. On the flyleaf is a label which says A jubilee memento of our Queen. Presented b y the Managers of the Plymouth Public School to W C Steer June 2lst l887. I think I shall have to try when I have time to find W C Steer and put more details with the book plus read the book myself.

Wonder if that stands for William Carnall Steer born 1876 or William Charles Steer b1878 or 1879

Thank you all for your interest. I reckon the Wm Charles b Plymouth is the right person. Don`t you always get sidetracked when you find something like this book and want to know more about the owner.
