She was born West Derby Registration District in the sub district of Everton. I hold a copy of her birth certificate.
I have looked on freebmd but could not find anything or else I got boggled eyed. I will look again.

It is the latter of the two. Fathers name Abraham Neal and mothers name Olive Neal formerly Moore.

Did the family stay together? If she wasn't around when your dad was young she either died or was adopted.

Hi everyone who as helped me, I will try and explain my very very difficult family tree:

Have orig certs for the following:
James Alexander Neal 1914- mother Olive Neal formerly Moore
William Frederick Neal 1916- Mother as above
May Frances Neal 1919- Mother as above- Can find nothing else on May
Albert Edward Neal 1921- Mother as above (my father)
George Henry Neal 1923- Mother as above

Olive (my grandmother) never married the above childrens fathers...please note her 1st sons fathers name was William Alexander and was the brother of Abraham who was the father of the last 4 children. It gets worse!!

Their mother put William & Albert into a childrens home when my father was 6 years old. ( Have paperwork)


Olive(my grandmother) has had the alias Moore & Neal

Have orig cert:
Olive was born in 1887 to Hannah Stoneham- no fathers name on the birth cert. She had 2 brothers & 2 sisters born Stonehams and 2 sisters & 1 brother called Moore....I think she took on the Moore name when her mother married William Moore in 1895.

In 1909 Olive Moore/Neal/Stoneham had actually got married to a Harvey Minshull so when she put her 2 children into the childrens home she registered the kids surname as Minshull.........as you have guessed my father went all through life with a surname Minshull with no birth cert until I discovered his real surname was Neal!!!

People say you find skeletons in your family tree but I think I have found enough (mainly my grandmother) within 2 generations :-)

I have no idea where to turn to find any info on my Aunt May Frances Neal, my grandmother Olive Minshull/Moore/Neal/Stoneham.

Sorry for going on folks but as you can see I am really struggling.
