Hi, I think i have a death date for some one but where can i find what cemetery she is buried in, as usually the certificate only states the district

Try the church records that have been indexed on http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/

- but the site warns that Roman Catholic churches tended not to retain burial records; with most RC churches having no records held from before 1900.

You could try posting the full details and we can see if we can find anything, I dont hold out much hope though, buts its worth a try

Gee Report 17 Jun 2012 16:35

Ireland, Civil Registration Deaths Index, 1864-1958
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1888
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1927
Death Age: 39
Registration district: Dublin South
Death Country: Ireland
Volume: 2
Page: 481
FHL Film Number: 101737

You say she was born about 1883, this lady is about 5 years younger. Also the census age doesnt match this death

Have you got the certificate (what details are on it) and can you be sure its your girl?

Michele

Michele Report 17 Jun 2012 16:40

No i don't have the certificate, it was just the nearest match to her that i could see.

Michele

Michele Report 17 Jun 2012 16:43

On the Ireland church records i found her Baptism, Agnes McDonnell, parents Maria an Patrick McDonnell living at 53 Townsend St an her baptism date is 1879, so i really don't know.

It might be worth getting the death certificate. This site

http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/Irish-deaths.html

states that the death certificate does give the place of death (as well as the district).

From this you could establish which parish it would have been in, and check that parish's burial records.

Michele....
This links with your other thread....maybe best to try and keep them altogether or make a note regarding the info already received......

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/genealogy_chat/thread/1298239

(from your May 2012 thread)

Mother Mary McDonnell nee Caffrey
Father Bernard McDonnell
Michael 1876
John 1878
Christopher 1881****married to Jane (1911 census above posted by Gins 15.36)
Patrick 1883
they were living in Asylum Yard 1901 c
Townsend street in 1911

Is this family another/different branch of the family....
Am lost...!!

Michele

Michele Report 18 Jun 2012 17:01

Eringobragh 1916, Yes this is the same family

Eringobragh1916

Eringobragh1916 Report 18 Jun 2012 18:28

Michele ...Then how come Agnes parents are Patrick and Marie....(try not to confuse me LOL !!)

Michele

Michele Report 18 Jun 2012 19:05

Sorry! i am trying to trace Jane her sister but thought trying her (Agnes) would help me, can't find a birth cert for Jane, and am guessing her death, i know she died young before 1918

Eringobragh1916

Eringobragh1916 Report 19 Jun 2012 08:25

Michele....Going back through your previous threads are you sure you searching the correct family...and which one is it...??
Do you have any Certs.at all...?

How have you have linked "Agnes McDonnell" daughter of Pat McDonnell and Marie Brady with the family of Bernard McDonnell and Mary Caffrey ....?

1901 Census 16 Asylum Yard

Mary "McDonald" widow b Co MEATH
John 21...Co Dublin
Christopher 19....Co Dublin
Patrick 17....Co Dublin

These details correspond with the marriage of Bernard "Mc Donnell" and Mary Caffrey and ages of John and Christopher (but listed as b Co Dublin.Which you listed previously)

1901 Census 21.5 Luke St.

Agnes McDonnell is with her mother Marie(nee Brady) and sister Jane

Marie McDonnell was b in the Co Caven.....

1911 Census shows the above Marie McDonnell with daughters Jane and Agnes and Daughter in law Jane and grandchild...all living Townsend St....

There is as we know a John and Christopher McDonnell boarding at 39 Townsend St. but how certain are you that he is the Husband of Jane McDonnell...living with Marie McDonnell (above)

Given that the Christopher McDonnell (b 1881 Co Meath) was the son of Bernard and Mary he cannot therefore be the son of Marie McDonnell Brady which is the implication....

Help me out here...!!

Eringobragh1916, I have Christopher and Janes marriage cert, 1908 Dublin, i looked on the national archives Ireland an found her living with her mother an sister in 1911 although it states she is married, also Christopher is living in the same road but as a boarder with his brother, it also states he was married, i do not know why they aren't living together.
I couldn't find much on Jane and so i looked for her sister Agnes thats all.
Janes parents indeed are Patrick McDonnell & Maria Brady.
As she (Jane) died early and Chris came to England i wanted to know about her and what happened to their daughter Mary Ann and if they had more children.
