	Is there a way to find out if a member of the family had any war medals A member of the family died in action in1944 and the family always thought he had war medal/s but never saw any It would be nice to find out if he did Regards

	Ancestry have UK, Military Campaign Medal and Award Rolls, 1793-1949 If you care to give a name, will take a look. Andy

	He would almost certainly have been entitled to campaign medals, but I think (no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that you had to apply for them. I think I read recently that people are still being sent medals won by relatives during WW2. If he was killed in action it is possible that the medals were never presented.
