Due to the confusion, it might be an idea to tell us the 'facts' on you family, starting with your parents or if they are still living, their parents? |

I saw that Caroline and Ethel were together, on 1901 census. I am sure it is them because I have noticed before that it says that Ethel was born in Dixie Stree,t which is where the Ethel I have was born. What is your opinion, please. Do you think it IS the same Caroline Irwin that was the daughter of John and Caroline. |

This could be the brother Charles in 1901? it does look like the family was scattered in the 1901 census. |

John was in the workhouse, on the 1901 census. Perhaps he did leave the family and that IS why Charles gave Caroline away. But I believe that one of Caroline's siblings was married after that and gave, John, as their father, it is getting compllicated. Anne John's other daughter, moved to Hampshire, I believe and had a son and then married in 1921, Hampshire |

It's possible if he was in the workhouse for health reasons that he wouldn't have been fit to travel. You could buy the death cert and see if what caused his death was something 'long term' that might have prevented him being at the wedding? |
