I have, I believe found my Great Great Grandfather, Emanuel FERRIMAN (b.1813/15) Oxfordshire, I got the details from 1851 Census, but now cant find any other records online, no birth record etc and wouldlike to trace further back? Can anyone offer advice as to where my next port of call should be? |

Hi Simon it's not that unusual to find a difference in ages, especially on the 1841 census as they were rounded down to the nearest 5 years, it's still a bit out but I can't see another Emanuel Ferriman. |

Simon, ages in the 1841 census were rounded down to the nearest 5; so he could have been anything from 20 to 25. |

On that same directory entry it has "Charles Ferriman 'Old George' ( an inn?) and Farmer" |

A tree on Ancestry has his baptism as 24th March 1815; parents Samuel and Mary. Source is given as Parish Records. |

safc / shirley / potty:- So will the cd of parish records have copies of the actual certificates in order to see marriage/births? Or do you have to go to GRO to get them? |

CDs of parish records normally ( but not exclusively ) have transcriptions of entries not the images themselves. |
