He is married to Mary Ann Bees 1834 Bridport. He puts his birth as 1831 Dublin, Ireland. If there are not any others then that must be him.

You would be unwise just to assume that the info found is your man, without researching further. When and where did he marry?

Where did you find your info about him.....was it on a census return?

Lavender...Look at the records on the site I listed as there are a number of children born to that couple ...father is listed as a saddler...they are COI not RC...the records are free.

I notice that somebody on And*stry has probably picked up the same info for a William Fletcher b 1831 Ireland and in a Census is living in Scotland with different children. Not correct for me although there is a connection with Scotland for the family (I need to make a telephone call).

Lavender...Family search also gives a number of WIlliam Fletcher's b Dublin for the date 1831..the MC to Mary B would give fathers name...

William Fletcher married Mary Ann Woodall. Bristol 1880 Marriage Reg June Quarter.(see freeBMD)

Cannot see that Wm.has any second Christian names so I am thinking the Dublin Baptism is not his....

I was aware that it was a second marriage between William Fletcher 1831 and Mary Ann Bees 1834.

I wasn't aware of a previous marriage for William Fletcher 1831?

I had seen the above entries but have not found either marriage certificates between William Fletcher 1831 and Mary Ann Bees 1834 nor

Mary Ann Bees and William Benjamin Ashton Wood(h)all (I found his name on his children's baptism indexes.

The children are -

Alfred Woodall 1860

Mary Ann Tracey Woodall 1865

Melinda Woodall (I forget!)

and

Therese Fletcher 1866 - 1919

Amy Fletcher 1868

I'm not sure what to make of the Census name

Mary Ann House Woodall?


edit* yes, I've found the family search really helpful understanding the two marriages on both sides.

I have the marriage between William Fletcher 1831 and Therese 1866, it happened in 1888 Bristol :-)

Edit* No I don't! That is the wedding between William Webber and Therese lol

Many thanks, am able to rearrange my tree with Mary Ann Bees not being the natural mother of the Woodall children.

Will return to William Fletcher 1831 Dublin once I have got my head round these marriages. :-)
