They are on Forces War Records by Ancestry

WW2 service records are generally not online.

I don't have a sub to ForcesWarRecords, but this appears to be the same man on Ancestry.

the LAA regiments weren't flying - they were part of the Royal Artillery, and were shooting down enemy aircraft from ground positions, to put it very simply.

"28 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed at Nottingham, in August 1939. It served with Air Defence Great Britain in Nottingham and Derby. The Regiment moved to India in March 1942. It served there and in Burma (Myanmar) until the end of the war. It was placed in suspended animation in December 1945 at Malmesbury, Wiltshire. 28 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) re-constituted as 528 (Nottinghamshire) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947."
