I have an old rellie in my tree called Dyar Smith. How is Dyar pronounced? Would it be Dyer or Deer? Deb:)

Shame on you Michael, for a person living in Dorset (:-) The pronunciation is the opposite to how you describe it, Gillingham in Kent is pronounced with a soft G, and Gillingham in Dorset with a hard G. Jennifer (in Dorset with connection in both Gillinghams)
