I am not sure about Ireland but Scotland's BMD registration did not begin until 1855. Georgina.

Registration wasn't compulsory until 1875........and many people didn't bother, for one reason or another, until they had to! Reg

July, 1837 was when registration began in England and Wales. I think it was 1855 in Scotland (but not sure on that). Kath. x
