www(.)igi-index(.)de/index(.)php given to me by a german teacher not sure how useful for whole of Germany as mine are the Old East Germany which does not seem that well covered. But there were still a huge number to look at, so you never know. Give it a try. Marie Kent |

If you click on the Union Jack in the top right corner of the home page, the German headings are translated into English. |

Thanks Helen I forgot to put that in, it was late when I posted LOL any odd words, I can proably get my friend to translate or try putting them into Alta vista search and the Babelfish translator may help. Marie |

Hi Marie I've got family from the old East Germany too, actually the Sudatenland (now in the Czech republic). The only info I have is what my German cousin has told me I haven't been able to find any websites and I think the census records may have been destroyed in the war. Have you been able to verify any of your records? Jeannie |
