Passenger lists to Canada 1865 to 1922 now Online

For those of you who have family that went to Canada, the Collections Canada website have recently added the passenger lists for all ships to their website. There is no name index but you can search by date and/or name of ship. If you are searching, be aware that often the names are listed by class of passage eg: first class, second class etc. so you will have to look through all the pages even though they are alphabetical. address http://www*collectionscanada*ca/archivianet/passenger/001045-100.01-e.php Remove the stars. Goodall family from Edmonton, Bexley, Tottenham area, Broom, Brown and Long families from Norfolk and lastley my elusive Attwell/Atwell family Middlesex area?

Teresa, do you know if children sent out under the 'Big Brother' scheme - e.g. from Children's Homes' - would be included in the passenger lists? They'd all be minors, so I'm wondering. (Not that I know what date or ship to check!) Bx

Barbara, the collections canada website also has list of home children sent to Canada from 1869 to 1930. You will find a list of all the databases here. http://www*collectionscanada*ca/genealogy/022-500-e.html Teresa
