I have found my Great Grandfather Henry Augustus Goodall in 1881 & 1891 UK census records as an adult, I know he was born in the South Western United states in 1851.In brackets it says British Subject. I cannot find him earlier than that. Anyone any ideas how I might trace when he came back to UK, or his parents. Thanks Jackie

If you get his marriage certificate, it should say who his father was. You'd then be able to find them on the US census. Marriages Dec 1874 Goodall Henry Augustus O Wright Sarah Kensington 1a 142

Jackie Any idea exactly where in the States the was born or parents names. I have looked on 1870 1860 and 1850 American census and no one jumps out at me. Sue
