Can anyone offer a tip of how to find who was living at the above address in 1917 (May time). I have a couple that got married and both gave the same address as to where they were living! Thanks Jenny

All you can do is check the electoral rolls. Cheers, Horatia

You'll find it was common to give just one of the addresses. It doesn't necessarily mean they were living together!

If you check the electoral rolls, you will only get people who were eligible to vote. So no men under 21 and no women or children. Sam x

Thank you all for your replies. I have a few certs that both the bride and groom give the same adress as each other!!!!!!! They certainly don't like to make life easy :)

By giving one address of where they were living it saved the expense of having banns published in two Parishes. It was a very common occurence. Alan
