Does anyone know if you can search Ancestry by add

I have a few ancestors whose names are continually misspelt and wonder if anyone can tell me if I can search by address only, as they tend to stay in the same place for years, but missing them on some vital census entries. Thanks, Trudi.

Hi Trudi, i think the only census you can search addresses on is the 1881 census. Julie x

Trudi the only census searchable by address on Ancestry is the 1881, you can search for addresses on other census's if you are prepared to trawl through the districts. Georgina.

Thanks for the replies, oh yes I can see that now on Ancestry 1881. I saw the post by Heather about villages/districts, so i'll try that. A very large town though so will get my eyes ready for the long haul! Thanks, Trudi
