Pat, have you looked to see if there is a Medal Card for him on National Archives documents on line? |

Thank you Willow, I had a look on A2A, but nothing stood out, I have not used those records before so dont know if i missed anything, got Ancestry full membership so fingers crossed, bout time they got more British Service records listed. thank you for your help. |

If you want his service record then they are stored at The national archives in Kew....www.nationalarchives.gov.uk However less than a 1/3rd of all service records from WW1 survived as they were destroyed during a fire in WW2. Service records that survived are stored under range WO 363 (burnt files) and WO 364 (pension files). or if you live close to a family history centre www.familysearch.org then you can for a few pounds order the film in that you want. The series title is Military records of the British Army, 1914-1920 There are also whispers that Ancestry are currently copying all of the burnt files and hope to have them available to view online at some point this year. |

I have been given some information that i need some advice on as to where to go next or how to use it. Albert Edward Phipps Acting Sergeant Army Service Corps Military service 08/03/1915 - 14/02/1919 T4/070507 I dont know what the number means, maybe this is the service number, I would like to know what to do next though to find some information about him. thank you |
