Kidd Usage: English, Scottish From a nickname meaning 'young goat, kid' in Middle English. They might also like to look at the houseofnames website. Google it to get there. Jack |

kidd 1. Scottish: from a medieval personal name Kid, a variant of Kit, a pet form of Christopher. 2. English: from Middle English kid(e) ‘young goat’, hence a nickname for a frisky person or a metonymic occupational name for a goatherd. 3. English: metonymic occupational name for a seller of faggots, from Middle English kidde ‘faggot’ (of unknown origin). Dictionary of American Family Names, Oxford University Press, ISBN 0-19-508137-4 |
