kidd 1. Scottish: from a medieval personal name Kid, a variant of Kit, a pet form of Christopher. 2. English: from Middle English kid(e) ‘young goat’, hence a nickname for a frisky person or a metonymic occupational name for a goatherd. 3. Kidd Usage: English, Scottish From a nickname meaning 'young goat, kid' in Middle English. They might also like to look at the houseofnames website. Google it to get there. Jack

Hi My friend wants to know where her surname originates from. Her surname is KIDD. I thought it may be english but im not sure. Can anyone help? Thanks very much Steph.
