I'm trying to start a friend off on this infuriating hobby and not getting very far... I have his and siblings births. 1951-1955-1959. His Fathers birth b1922 and death1990. All born in 'Tonbridge' Kent. Now for the problem..... His Mother died aged 41 in 1965 Tonbridge,Kent.Q2 5f-724. That makes her birth year around 1924.....I have looked on 'Ancestry' also 'find my past' Her name stated on all childrens birth certs as... LILLIAN Leach nee KENNEY. I cant find her! or any marriage between William Thomas LEACH and Lillian KENNEY. He says that he thinks his Grandfather was also named William Thomas Leach and his Grandmother was named 'May Lily Leach' nee KENNEY!!!! I found a birth for 'May Lily Kenney 1910 Tonbridge but that means she would have only been aged 12 when she had her son! ANY ideas and your thoughts on this one please, will be much appretiated. Gerri. |

I'm sending for that marriage cert and then maybe it will give us a clue where Lillian was born from her fathers name. She cant have been born in Tonbridge! Thanks again for your time Willow x |

Your views please? Would it have been possible for a 12 year old to have a baby and keep it back in 1922? |

If I have followed this properly, here is a possible? Births Jun 1902 (>99%) KENNEY Mary Lilian E W. Ham 4a 104 |

|
Willow | Report | 5 Jan 2007 15:48 |
Could be Selena, there are quite a few. Order the marriage you will have the fathers name to cross reference with the 1901 census, which will give you an indication of birth year. |

I'm a bit confused about Mary/Lily's death (age 41 in 1965) as she would be too young for the marriage - or have I lost the plot? Is that definately the right death for her? Selena |
