The majority of my family history research is based on members who lived in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Can anyone recommend which 'Family History Society' group I join. I have googled but many seem to be for the wrong area or out of date. Many Thanks Anne in North London

Try Staffordshirebmd. It is very good I have used it a lot for my relatives in Newcastle. Good record office too very helpful. Jennifer

Jennifer, Many Thanks, I often use Staffordshire BMD for record searching. What I need now is a more general forum, where people know the Newcastle area. Just wish I had been interested in family history when I lived there. Anne in North London

Google search 'Family History Societies' and the whole lot for the country will come up. Then choose the one you want. There are sometimes more than one for a county and one may be better for you than others. Janet
