Hot matches help please

Sorry this isn't a tip - wasn't sure which board to put it on. Weeks ago I cleared out most of my hot matches the majority of which I had no connection with. Since then I haven't received any new ones although I know that names have been added which match my tree. I have e mailed genes about this and got a fairly unsatisfactory reply. I'm sure I have read that hot matches can be switched off and I am wondering whether I, or genes, have inadvertently done that. However I don't know how to check that - and GR did not address that part of my query. Has anyone had the same hting happen to them re Hot Matches? Does anyone know how to switch them on/off. Hi Kate, to receive or cancel Hot matches you need to go to your account details. At the bottom, there is a section for e-mail preferences, if you check there and see if you have it ticked or not for hot matches. Hope this helps Keith |

Hi Keith I thought that was just for whether or not you wanted notification of new hot matches so that box isn't checked. However despite that, until recently I have still had new hot matches added to my list. I'll give it a go though and thanks for replying. Kate |

Sorry Kate You could be right about the notification only, not sure what is happening with people not receiving hot match's, there have been a few threads recently about it. Keith |

Kate No it definitely stops you getting them! I didn't know I'd ticked the box and couldn't understand it when everyone seemed to be receiving their hot matches every fortnight - I didn't receive any for months! Went to My Account Details, unticked the box and they've been coming ever since! Debby |
