Hi Jackie Thanks for the addtional information - it made all the diiference and I think we have found them There are only two Luther Farrant's on the 1901 Census and the one below is the only one with a daughter of the right age called Florence. Wonders of wonders he is also a bricklayer. I have the marriage certificate but due to the style of writing it is extremely difficult to read. It would appear that her father's name was Luther Farrant, but we are not sure. He was a bricklayer/builder and the cert also states that my grandmother was a spinster prior to her marriage. the other confusion is over her name, as she is buried under the name of Florence A Simmonds. however, we are positive this is her as the death was reported by her husband, my grandfather. So your grandmother married near Plymouth in Devon. If you haven't already you really need to buy her marriage cert detailed above which would give her age, father and his occupation. If you have the cert can you list this as it should help enormously Given her likely birth area of around Plymouth there is a possible birth below, but if she was anything like my grandmother she could have missed a few years off her age when she marrried! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Births Dec 1892 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Farrant Elizabeth Florence Plymouth 5b 261 Just rechecking the messages - was she 30 when she married in 1928 - in which case she would have been born about 1898. Do you have any idea of where she came from and whether she had any siblings?

hi all! I am looking for my grandmother who was known as either Ceilia Florence farrant or Florence A Farrant (this is a recent discovery for me so sorry if it sounds a bit confused!). I have records of her marriage to my grandfather but I cannot find her birth records. I know that she died in 1950 at the age of 58 and her wedding was in the summer of 1928.
