im i right in thinking that when you get adopted that a new birth certificate is issued to your new parents and under the part mothers maidien name would of course be your new mothers name however i found my birth cert with my birth mothers maiden name mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any suggestions please this relates to 1957

Births are registered ONCE and these certs will have the birth mother's name. When you are adopted I believe you get an adoption certificate, with your adopted parents' names. The birth certificate will have the fact that the child was adopted on it.
