Hi I have today got the marriage certificate for my 4 x great Grandparents John Bagguley and Mary Newton they married in 1849 in Lowdham, Nottingham. I am having a problem with the occupation as its has been abbriviated to 3 letters and wondered if anyone here knew what it stood for. Both John his father and Mary's father seem to have the same occuption: Its seem say F.W (K)? (I think it is an F as not other F on page cant compare) This is all it has for all 3 of the occupations can you help as to what it stands for any ideas would be great. Thanks Karen

FWK is the standard abbreviation for Framework Knitter. It's quite common on the 1841 census but fell out of use in later years.
