hi all why does no one want to respone to my pm's about folk I ask ever so nicely and say thank you give them as n=much info they need to make a match and nothing not even an auto response. Does no one want to be related to me Has my reputation preceded me do you think Laura NOW I REALY HAVE NO RESPONSE

Laura I think I'd been on this site 18 months before someone asked if we were connected - and we weren't. I think you are expecting too much too soon. The chances of anyone in your family tracing the same tree and belonging to this site and checking their e-mails daily is probably very low. Sometimes it takes ages. I was recently contacted by someone who'd read a post I put THREE YEARS AGO mentioning my gt grandfather's 2nd wife. Now this wife was not a blood relative of mine and was only a 7th cousin of the person who contacted me. I replied straight away though and said I had a lot of papers about the wife. I've heard nothing since and this is presumably from someone who WANTS the information. All the living relatives I've contacted who are tracing their trees I have contacted outside of this board. nell

Laura I have sent several emails to peeps on here regarding hot matches but received no replies. But I just expect that they obviously not really interested and often wonder why they have their tress on here. It is not as if I want to see their trees or request this. I think you have to execept that they do not want to reply. I have found one cousin from here but believe I cannot be lucky twice. Gwen

Well, if you were to pm me to say you knew something about my mysterious Sarah Holt, whom I had been searching for for 18 yrs, I would respond to you with open arms! Sadly. it never happens, although I get plenty of pms for information from people just starting out on their journey. Don't let it put you off contacting people - there are all sorts of reasons why they don't respond. Jay

hi all thanks its just been one of those days. Took the kids to school only to find that it was still closed so spent half an hour running after parents who where dropping kids of and driving straight off then a couple of busses turned up with kids on at this point I went to fetch a teacher after all doing a 16mile run at 8.30 in the morning is not a good start for me Jant If I ever get a Jane Holt you will be my first point of call ok Laura

Good 'SUFF' indeed Laura. I have never appreciated South African wine - at least the ones we can buy over here - Perhaps I should give them another try?? Take care when cooking the pasta!! I go to whisky not brandy Glenmorangie to be exact at the mo and it cant be having no effect if I am still getting things wrong trying not to spell words I have to think about if the simple one are coming out wrong Laura
