Hi Paul, Dea & everyone, thanks so much for all your help I am at a loss for words at how kind and helpful you have all been. Paul, Yes plumbing all sorted now and back to normal. Dea, I've sent email to the address you gave me and have automated reply that the person is on holiday, so fingers / legs / toes crossed for a positive reply, thanks for the addy. Paul the comments about the Masons was quite interesting and I will certainly look that one up. I don't know about any daughters just possibly a son, but who knows. I am definately going to be kept busy now with all the information, help & advice you have all so kindly supplied me. No doubt I shall get stuck again and will put out another call for help. Once again many many thanks and I wish you all good hunting in your own Family research. Kind Regards Lou x |

Your next project should be to find newspaper articles in local papers covering the wedding and deaths. I'm convinced, too, that William must have been a freemason to have qualified for a burial plot in a masonic cemetery, so tyou need to find his lodge. Good luck with the plumbing! |

Wow! guys I was only off line a short time and look what you've found for me. Your true stars and I can't thank you enough! Thanks thanks thanks. That's narrowed it down a bit, I did take a look at the web site mentioned and couldn't find my Parr marriage or death - but it was a quick look. I've taken copies of all comments and made a note of the latest web sites to look at later tonight, unfortunatley in-laws just phone again and have plumbing problems now and will have to dash out again. Thank you all so much once again, it's really helped me a lot - especially now I've discovered rellies in Canada I know now more about tracing family history in Canada than I did a few hours ago. Can't thank you all enough, good hunting to you all in your own Tree, Regards and best wishes Lou |

What does that word Masonic mean? Surely it's not his name? If it's something to do with the Freemasons maybe they can help you. |

I don't surpose you have any idea what parishes are in the Burnaby area do you? It's just that I've an aunt who is going to Van' Canada next year and she's the grandneice of Catherine and may be willing to look up the church where she is buried. thanks Lou Paul, thanks for the tip, will give it a go Lou |

I googled this.... http://genealogy(.)about(.)com/library/vital/blbritishcolumbia.htm [remove brackets] Anyone with a valid reason (including genealogy) may obtain a death certificate in British Columbia. The standard certificate contains the individual's full name, sex, date of death, place of death, place of birth, resident province/state/country, registration number, and date of registration. The genealogical certificate or a photocopy of the original death record, may contain the following additional info: age, birth date, marital status, name of spouse, place of burial, occupation, and parent's names and birthplaces. With your request include as much as possible of the following: full name of the deceased, date and place of death, sex and age of deceased, your relationship to the individual, the reason for your request, your full name and address and your signature. Cost of copy: $27CAN standard certificate (transcription) - about £13; $50CAN photocopy or transcribed genealogy certificate - about £24 [Before you part with your hard-earned, it might be worth checking with your nearest LDS Centre to see if they hold microfilm copies.] |
