I followed Heather's advice and googled Horme, my mother's maiden name. Now everytime I open my hot mail I get at least two messages from Horny housewives who would like to meet me.

Hi Heather, Of course you deserve such praise, wouldn't have thought of the googling if you hadn't mentioned it! Drake, very strange eh?!! Not worked out where that comes from, his mothers maiden name was Jones, so cant be that!! Merry noticed that there were lots of Lindos in the carribean...OOh er!! Will try your suggestion of googling portuguese colonies and Lindo and see what comes up. Have looked on the national archives for Lindos, but none that seem to be mine have come up. Love you even more now for your modesty. Glad you back have missed your much needed humour on the boards Fuzzy x

Wow, Im totally overwhelmed and a bit guilty - I dont deserve any such praise. As you can see, some of the REAL bright sparks found lots of info for you and they are also the ones who always help me. Im really pleased for you though. That sounds really interesting - Portugese eh? There must be some interesting stuff on A2A for you. Have you worked out where the Drake bit comes from too? Wonderful stuff. Carry on googling - Id have a go for Portugese Colonies, Lindo - just to see if anything comes up.

There are quite a lot of LINDO records on National Archives. Don't know if this relates to your Thomas: Online Document PROB 11/1984 Will of Thomas Lindo , Carpenter of No 3 Gloucester Place Walworth Common, Surrey Date: 1843. Christine

Swift tip......If you have someone with an unusual name, it's a goodidea to enter it in full on the All Resources page of Family Search and then tick the box for exact match (obviously this won't pick up if the spelling is wrong!!) Merry
