Hi All, With Malta under British Rule between 1814 - 1964, was the census carried out every 10 years as in the UK. If so does anyone know if the records are available. Bye Paul |

I don't know thr proper answer but... if you go on familysearch.org there is a Maltese census on there. Was the person you are looking for in the Army or Navy should be on the British census. |

Have you got any of their civil reg details. Civil Reg started in 1863 before that you have to contact the individual parish - sorry if you already know. |

Hi Pipa, Thanks again for your reply. That's my problem, I don't know anything, that is, untill I read your reply which has once again proved usefull. I have a birth certificate for a Mr X born in Malta in 1903. It has his mother and fathers full name and place of birth and their fathers names. It also has the names of 2 witnesses, their ages and their place of birth. Strange on a birth certificate. I'd like to trace the family of Mr X further back but that's all the details I have to go on. Thanks Paul |
