Could I have a lookup for a marriage between Ann Meakin and James Riggott please? c1838-1842, Derbyshire. I have an inkling I have the wrong James on my tree :( Thankyou! |

Hello Rebekah, I found a marriage on FreeBMD for James Piggott to Ann Meakin but in September quarter 1850 in Chesterfield. Vol 19 pg 507. Helenx |

Thanks! Have the BMD address now, have just looked it up. Looks like it was them then. Just confuses me because their 1st child was born 1842. Thankyou. :) |

Just a theory - it's possible James married more than once. There's a James married to Ann in 1851 census. He was born in Ashover. He has a son James born c 1842. There is a wedding in 1842 in Sheffield for a James Riggott. Two of the ladies on the page are called Ann. There are 2 Ann Riggotts who die in Chesterfield, one in 1842 and one in 1845. He could have married in 1842, wife dies and then he marries another Ann - Ann Meakin. I leave you to your own conclusions. Jim |

Ooh, thanks Jim. Two Ann's; hence the confusion. I think youve got something there. Thankyou. |
