Just a theory - it's possible James married more than once. There's a James married to Ann in 1851 census. He was born in Ashover. He has a son James born c 1842. There is a wedding in 1842 in Sheffield for a James Riggott. Two of the ladies on the page are called Ann. There are 2 Ann Riggotts who die in Chesterfield, one in 1842 and one in 1845. He could have married in 1842, wife dies and then he marries another Ann - Ann Meakin. I leave you to your own conclusions. Jim

Thanks! Have the BMD address now, have just looked it up. Looks like it was them then. Just confuses me because their 1st child was born 1842. Thankyou. :)

Do you have the address of Free BMD? It has the same info as ancestry.

Hello Rebekah, I found a marriage on FreeBMD for James Piggott to Ann Meakin but in September quarter 1850 in Chesterfield. Vol 19 pg 507. Helenx

Could I have a lookup for a marriage between Ann Meakin and James Riggott please? c1838-1842, Derbyshire. I have an inkling I have the wrong James on my tree :( Thankyou!
