Thank you Maureen. I have not yet got the hang of searching for mispers. Any advice on how to do this would be good! ! ! The info you have given me on Rosa and Louisa will now allow me to trawl on a bit further. Thanks again. TGx |

Hi Maureen, Yes this is my couple. I so much want to find them on the 1871 census, but it is comforting to know that It is not 'just me'. How you found that Misper I do not know! I take my hat off to you. I am 'doing' my Lambeth Kirbys and it is slow work. So nice of you to help me. I will start again tomorrow. Kind regards TGx |

Oh Glitter baby, this is the second time you have amazed me! As I said, I have Rosa Celuta born c 1804, but we both know what can happen in time and transcription. So my Lousia could be French! How did you do that? And thank you. TGx |

I have been trying to trace the life of my relative John Kirby. He was born c 1834 in Lambeth, London. I have found him in the 1851 census with parents and siblings. Then found his marriage to Louisa Celuta in Lambeth in 1854. Next found them both in 1861 census, living in Lambeth and with no children. Found them again in 1881 census living in Gravesend, Kent and with no children. Try as I might, I cannot find them in the 1871 census. I was really hoping to find them with a family. I may have found Louisa’s death in Gravesend in 1888. Tomorrow will be certs ordering day for me. Two things really – can anyone please find them in the 1871 census please??? Also, Celuta is an unusual name, but I can only find one other – a death for Rosa Celuta (b1804) in 1870 in Lambeth. Could this be Louisa’s mother? I am exhausted now and will shortly go to bed after hours of searching. But honestly, any info would really help and be much appreciated. TGx |
