Can someone look at 1841 Simon Ruby,born abt 1791 Cornwall. Living East Stonehouse, Devon. Folio 13, Page 20. Is his occupation Navy? Thanks. |

He's actually SIMION (not, as one might expect, Simeon) on the image - and as transcribed! East Stonehouse is a likely place for naval workers and I agree that it does look like ''Navy''. Christine |

Thanks Christine, Thought that's what it looked like. The Simion/ Simeon seemed to change through that family for many generations. I can't actually find a Simon amongst the lot. I just put it there as that's what I had on Ancestry Thanks again. |
