Thanks Christine, Thought that's what it looked like. The Simion/ Simeon seemed to change through that family for many generations. I can't actually find a Simon amongst the lot. I just put it there as that's what I had on Ancestry Thanks again.

He's actually SIMION (not, as one might expect, Simeon) on the image - and as transcribed! East Stonehouse is a likely place for naval workers and I agree that it does look like ''Navy''. Christine

Can someone look at 1841 Simon Ruby,born abt 1791 Cornwall. Living East Stonehouse, Devon. Folio 13, Page 20. Is his occupation Navy? Thanks.
