can anyone help ive discovered this morning(as its listed on a marr cert)that my grt grt grandad was a private in the army in the 5th royal warwick,where can i find any further info?? his name was George Haynes

Did he survive the war. If you have his service number you can get a copy of his army records. You could google and find out about his regiment. Irene

Hi all,thankyou for your help! im not sure where or when he served or service numbers etc.i was quite shocked to find it on his marriage cert as no-one was aware he was even in the army.i def need to find out more but still unsure of the best place to look? any ideas gladly accepted
