Hi has anyone any idea how to find information on businesses past. I have the name of the town I have an approx date I have the name of the company but for my reserch I need to know the name of the owners, as i'm new to this game I havent got a clue where to start looking.any help would be greatfuly recieved. Hi Kathleen Try this site, it may have what you're looking for. http://www.historicaldirectories.org/ It takes a while to get used to how it works, but if you play with it you should soon get to grips with it. Good luck. Dianne xx |

Many Town/County websites have a bit of historical information about companies and businesses. Manchester City Council website is one, and I dare say there are many others. Historical Directories are unlikely to give you the names of the owners, unless it was a one man business. OC |

If the business was a limited liablility company, the names of the directors will be recorded at Companies House. Reg |
