Essentially, you're looking for a KNIGHT family in the Hawarden area with children: Thomas, John & Sarah Ann, and grandson William (or Thomas John). Christine |

Hope you don't mind Elaine - I find I miss things when GR garbles up the headers as they do... Original Added by Elaine Knight on 08/06/2006 19:36:47 Can anyone help me PLEASE????? Hi I do hope someone can help? I'm trying to trace a Sarah Ann Knight who was the mother of a Thomas John KNIGHT born 13/08/1873. Thomas's birth was registered in the district of Hawarden, Counties of Cheshire and Flintshire. However I have a letter dated 1935 from Thomas John Knight, advising that although he was born Thomas John, he has grown up known as William Knight. The letter explains that he was raised by his grandparents who already had two sons, named Thomas and John and so for distinction they named him William. His mother who was a servant who had him out of wedlock and that is all I know about her. I have managed to find him on the 1901 census, living with Emily Molyneux, his fiancee recorded a William but I can't seem to locate him before then. Has anyone got any ideas/suggestions??? Elaine |
