Family Bible on Ebay 45 minutes to go

Last night I saw this on Ebay Item No.8423884424 LARGE FAMILY BIBLE 1860 There are a number of inscriptions inside,for example James Eaton Slater and Melville Slater. So I looked up some of the names on GR and it is definitely the bible containing the names of a GR member called Carol Watts. Ive emailed her but have had no reply but that could be because she hasnt been into her email today. I know this would be the ultimate find if it was mine and I dont know what to do. I am tempted to buy it for her. Ann

OOOOOOOOOOOOhhh - I would have to buy it - if it wasn't too expensive ! If it was me I would gladly re-imburse you, but it is not, so I don't know how the other person would react. Can't really help, but feel just as excited as you !! Can you please find a gold hunter watch which was stolen from my father - left to him by his father - Isaac Chapman, and duly inscrbed.?? If so, I would be delighted to pay whatever you had to give + more!! Regards, Dea x

Dea, I am so excited you would think it was mine, I am off to buy it if she doesnt want it I'll put it up for auction again. At least for a while I have experienced what it could be like if I had found mine! Ann

just had a reply from the seller there is an area of south nornanton notts in the bible if this helps you to locate a family for it good luck

Because I was so excited I didnt explain myself very well the owner is almost certainly Carole as I mentioned in my 1st message, I think she probably hasnt been into her email today and seen my message. Coincidence of all is that I live near South Normanton and the seller is in Nottingham, Ive bought it now and will be picking it up soon. Just waiting for Carole to reply. Ann

Just thought I'd let you all know that I have found the owner of the bible, it belonged to his GG Grandparents, I am soooo happy for him! It even has an In Memoriam Card tucked in the back with another name to investigate. Will be handing it over probably Saturday. Ann
