Great! it worked. Right then. My nan and granddad were married in 1928, when he was 38 years old. Found out this W/E that he was married before (don't know to whom) and that he had custody of his son Leslie, who was 'about 13 years old' at the time of his re-marriage. So working back from his 2nd marriage I have been trawling for days to find his first marriage - I have failed. So if anyone feels inclined to look, here are the sparse details: Albert William Kirby b1890 Lambeth, London. It is very likely that he married in or around Lambeth. That's all I've got folks. I'll make a Genius badge if anyone can help with this long shot! TGx |

The only Leslie Kirby born in 1915 was in the last quarter in Colchester, mother's maiden name Lee. (Leslie F Kirby) Janice |

so 1904 was about the earliest he could have married, and you are guessing son was born when? |

Hi Jess, I have been looking on Ancestry with no luck. I believe he must have been born about 1915. Janice, I couldn't find any Les Kirby, so Colchester might be worth a gamble. I am told he divorced her, so that may be another trail to follow. Thank you ladies. TGx |
